The Job at a Glance

You will lead the People Operations function and drive a wide range activities with a strong focus on performance management and talent. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our high-performance culture in a way that aligns with our organization's goals and objectives through enhancing employee engagement, development, and productivity. This role requires a deep understanding of performance management and workforce planning, as well as the ability to foster an environment that encourages growth and accountability. As a People athlete, you’ll be ready to switch between finding, developing, motivating, and retaining employees across your work, while partnering closely with the Senior People Ops Manager to support the tactical People Operations aspects. The role will push you to interface thoughtfully with all levels of our organization through both meaningfully engaging our employees, as well as serving as an advisor to senior leadership.

What You’ll Do

Working within an organization created at the intersection of health care, retail and financial technology, no two days will look the same. Typical responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive people programs and solutions to drive employee engagement, development, productivity, and accountability that align with evermore's objectives.
  • Own workforce strategy and planning by recommending and driving improvements that push evermore forward, addressing gaps in our talent, and preparing the organization for continued growth.
  • Attract, retain, and motivate an outstanding employee base by designing talent management and evaluation approaches, goal/metric setting and assessment processes, and a total compensation / recognition strategy for the organization.
  • Reinforce and promote a high-performance culture across all levels of the organization; own change management initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, employee satisfaction, and talent development / coaching.
  • Engage and support employees by being an active listener and advocate for their needs; measure and continuously improve employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the People Operations function, guiding the development and execution of people programs, operational priorities, and organizational initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
  • Advise senior leadership on People decisions; perform research, provide useful data, and make comprehensive recommendations to help guide decision making.
  • Maintain accountability for People processes and deliverables for the organization.
  • Build and lead the People Operations team: hiring, mentoring, and structuring the function as the company grows.

About You

While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include:

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in HR or People Operations roles at a high-growth, venture backed start-up or other relevant settings; must be a champion of employee engagement and talent development.
  • Proven track record of delivering and implementing successful people strategies that enhance organizational performance; strong knowledge of performance management systems, goal setting/tracking programs, and employee development frameworks will be key.
  • Strong communicator and relationship cultivator who can successfully coach, influence, and partner with various levels of the organization; a high level of emotional intelligence is a must.
  • Passionate about supporting and growing evermore's people with compassion and humility while also having the grit to handle complex and sensitive matters; must be a self-starting builder who is results-oriented, can embrace ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to building an inclusive culture that is highly collaborative, strives to set and achieve goals together, and embraces/embodies transparency, innovation, and accountability; demonstrated experience building culture at a remote-first or start-up company is key.
  • A history of thriving in a remote-first environment and mindfully building teams that succeed. Ability and willingness to work in a primarily remote environment, with occasional travel.
  • Deep understanding of core People Operations topics, as well as labor laws, regulations, and best practices in human capital management; experience with relevant system and tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience strongly preferred; SHRM or HRCI-issued certification and/or MBA/advanced degree is a plus.
