We are a growing hospitality group in Bali, operating boutique villas and destination dining experiences in the Ubud area. We are looking for a creative and experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary operations at Diwali Ubud, an India restaurant that is expanding its menu offerings to include high-quality Western and authentic Balinese cuisine.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for strengthening our existing culinary identity while developing new Western and Balinese menu concepts that appeal to both international and domestic guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise all daily kitchen operations
Create, develop, and maintain high-quality Western and authentic Balinese menu selections
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, portioning, and taste
Develop seasonal menus, special promotions, set menus, and dining experiences
Manage food costing, inventory, purchasing, and kitchen operational expenses
Monitor stock levels and minimize food waste
Ensure all kitchen areas comply with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
Train, motivate, schedule, and evaluate the kitchen team
Coordinate with the Restaurant, Front Office, Sales, and Management teams regarding guest requests and special events
Handle dietary requirements, food allergies, and special guest requests professionally
Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance requirements
Support breakfast service, à la carte dining, romantic dinners, private events, and other villa dining experiences
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a reputable hotel, villa or resort
Strong knowledge and practical experience in Western and Balinese cuisine
Excellent cooking, menu development, plating, and food presentation skills
Good understanding of food costing, inventory management, purchasing, and kitchen budgeting
Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills
Creative, detail-oriented, disciplined, and able to maintain consistent food quality
Able to work under pressure and manage multiple kitchen operations
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English communication skills are preferred
Familiar with dietary restrictions, vegetarian dishes, and guest-specific meal requests
Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
Preferably residing in Ubud, Gianyar, or surrounding areas
Available to join immediately will be an advantage
