Key responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations
- Prepare, review and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and relevant accounting standards
- Lead and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training and performance management to ensure team effectiveness and professional development
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency
- Manage the general ledger and coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audit purposes
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, highlighting variances and providing recommendations to senior management
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with tax advisors on matters requiring external expertise
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and provide financial analysis to support business decision-making
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in accounting roles, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity and wide experience in SAP
- Extensive knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and local accounting and tax regulations
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is advantageous
- Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, general ledger management and month-end/year-end closing procedures
- Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes and financial compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop accounting staff
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly
- Professional integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices
