Responsibilities
Conduct routine vessel inspections and onboard visits to monitor the operational condition, maintenance, and repair activities, particularly in the deck department.
Prepare periodic operational and vessel inspection reports.
Investigate non-conformities, accidents, near misses, and hazardous incidents occurring in vessel operations.
Supervise vessel repair activities related to the deck department and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company operational standards.
Manage and ensure the availability of nautical documents and publications, including nautical charts, BPI, Notices to Mariners (NTM), and other navigation references onboard.
Review the monthly implementation reports of the ISM Code across the fleet, particularly those related to deck operations.
Review and approve Service Requests (SR) and Purchase Requests (PR) related to deck operational requirements.
Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to support smooth vessel operations and ensure navigational safety.
Ensure compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental protection procedures in accordance with company standards and maritime regulations.
Promote and implement Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices in the workplace.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's Degree (D4/S1) in Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, or an equivalent qualification.
Hold a valid ANT II or ANT I Certificate of Competency.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Port Captain or in a similar position and Sailing on Ships.
Strong knowledge of deck operations and navigational safety.
Good understanding of the ISM Code, SOLAS, and applicable maritime regulations.
Experienced in vessel inspections and the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Ability to conduct investigations into operational incidents and non-conformities.
Knowledge of nautical documentation and maritime publications.
Experience in monitoring deck maintenance and repair activities.
Willing to be based Tambora, West Jakarta
