Marketing and Administration Assistant

New Zealand Food Innovation Network | FoodBowl, Auckland

Are you a creative, organised, people-focused multitasker who loves marketing, communication, and making things run smoothly?

The New Zealand Food Innovation Network (NZFIN) is looking for a friendly and capable Marketing and Administration Assistant to support our national network and help us champion innovation across New Zealand’s food and beverage sector.

NZFIN exists to make it easier for food and beverage businesses to commercialise new ideas. Through our open-access facilities, technical expertise, and collaborative environments, we help businesses of all sizes develop, scale, and launch successful products. Our mission is simple: to help realise the full potential of New Zealand’s food and beverage industry for a better future through food.

About the role

This is a varied and rewarding role that blends marketing coordination, content creation, front-of-house support, office administration, and team coordination.

You will help build NZFIN’s external profile through social media, newsletters, marketing collateral, events, case studies, and website updates, while also ensuring our FoodBowl office in Auckland is professional, welcoming, organised, and running smoothly.

You will be part of a supportive national team that values working Better Together, acting For the Greater Good, helping Make the Future Happen, and showing Courage and Care.

Note: this role is part-time (~20 hours per week), you will need to be available to start at 7.30am to support welcoming clients onsite for their production.

What you will be doing

In this varied role, you will support NZFIN’s marketing activity and help keep the FoodBowl office running smoothly. Your work will include:

  • Coordinating social media, newsletters, website updates, marketing collateral, and customer case studies.

  • Supporting events, training courses, bookings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Acting as a welcoming first point of contact for visitors, clients, and external stakeholders.

  • Helping track customer feedback, NPS results, and basic marketing performance.

  • Managing day-to-day office administration, including enquiries, meeting rooms, supplies, couriers, catering, invoices, and general team support.

  • Working closely with the Head of Business Activation, CFO, and wider NZFIN team.

You will bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence with social media, newsletters, presentations, and website content.

  • Good organisation, time management, and attention to detail.

  • A friendly, professional, and helpful approach.

  • The ability to balance marketing and administration tasks.

  • An interest in food, innovation, business, and New Zealand’s food and beverage sector.

  • Confidence using common digital tools such as email, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and booking platforms.

  • A valid New Zealand driver licence.

Experience with events coordination, invoicing, admin systems, branding, or marketing tools would be useful, but a positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn are just as important.
