About the role
ER OF BERAWA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hotline Operator to join our emergency healthcare services team in Bali. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to be a critical point of contact for individuals seeking urgent medical assistance. As a Hotline Operator, you will serve as the first voice of support, providing essential triage services and connecting patients with appropriate emergency and critical care resources. This role is vital to our mission of delivering prompt and effective emergency healthcare services to our community.
Key responsibilities
Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls professionally and with empathy, accurately recording caller information and medical concerns
Perform initial patient assessment and triage to determine the urgency and appropriate level of care required
Provide clear and calm communication to callers, offering reassurance and basic first aid guidance when appropriate
Accurately document patient information, symptoms, and call details into the medical records system in a timely manner
Coordinate with emergency medical teams, dispatch services, and healthcare providers to ensure patients receive appropriate care
Handle multiple calls efficiently whilst maintaining composure and attention to detail under pressure
Follow established protocols and procedures for emergency call management and patient confidentiality
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of available medical services, facilities, and resources to direct patients appropriately
Provide support to medical staff by gathering and relaying critical patient information
Monitor call quality and contribute to continuous improvement of hotline services
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a hotline operator, call centre agent, or similar customer-facing role in a healthcare or emergency services environment
Strong knowledge of emergency medical protocols, triage procedures, and basic medical terminology
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional during high-stress situations
Exceptional listening and comprehension skills to accurately interpret caller concerns and medical symptoms
Proficiency in computer systems and medical records software, with ability to type accurately and quickly
Multilingual abilities, particularly fluency in English and Indonesian, with additional languages considered advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the capability to manage multiple simultaneous calls and tasks
Empathy and compassion for individuals in distress or medical crisis
Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required for emergency services
High level of discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection
Relevant certification or training in emergency medical dispatch, first aid, or healthcare communication is preferred
ORARI MEMBER WILL BE A PLUS POINT (Yankee Delta" (YD) prefix)
Able and mandatory skill to use STATION RADIO POC/UHF AND VHF FREQUENCY
