We are hiring for a digital experience agency based in Australia with over 28 years of experience, working with long-term clients across multiple industries. As a small, high-performance team with a startup feel, we're looking for a Senior Digital Strategist who can take real ownership, think across disciplines, and drive outcomes — not just activity.

This is a hands-on senior role. You will own digital strategy across multiple client accounts, working across paid media, SEO, and digital performance, while contributing to how the agency builds and improves digital products and workflows. You are comfortable moving between campaign execution and product thinking — mapping user journeys, shaping MVPs with developers, and identifying when a client's problem needs a system or tool, not just a marketing solution.

The role is remote, but you'll be working closely with an Australian-based team and clients, operating to AU agency standards. You will need to be comfortable contributing to strategic conversations, making decisions with incomplete information, and working across marketing, UX, and technical teams without losing momentum.

Key Responsibilities


Campaign Ownership & Performance

  • Oversee and contribute to paid media across Meta and Google — from setup and optimisation through to reporting and client consultation
  • Contribute to and guide SEO strategy, including keyword direction, on-page improvements, and content opportunities
  • Ensure campaigns align with business objectives and performance targets, not just activity metrics
  • Continuously test, refine, and improve outcomes across all assigned accounts


Digital Products & Systems

  • Contribute to discovery and planning of digital products, tools, and workflows
  • Map user journeys, inputs/outputs, and functional requirements
  • Work with developers to shape MVPs and platform improvements
  • Identify when a client problem requires a system or tool, not just a marketing solution


AI, Automation & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve performance and efficiency
  • Contribute to AI-driven workflows, content generation, and data utilisation
  • Work across emerging tools and internal systems to enhance delivery and scale


Collaboration & Commercial Growth

  • Work directly with internal teams to prioritise high-impact work
  • Identify growth opportunities within client accounts
  • Support strategic conversations and contribute to new business opportunities


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a digital marketing or performance role, with a strong agency background preferred
  • Demonstrated experience owning performance outcomes across multiple client accounts
  • Confident working across paid media, analytics, and website performance without reliance on others
  • Hands-on experience with platforms including GA4, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Shopify, WordPress, and CRM tools
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals including keyword strategy, on-page optimisation, and how search contributes to overall performance
  • Experienced in improving website performance and conversion
  • Able to work with developers, understand technical constraints, and contribute to digital product and workflow improvements
  • Comfortable working on problems beyond marketing, including systems, tools, and early-stage product thinking
  • Commercially minded and focused on outcomes, not just activity
  • Confident leading client conversations and making decisions
  • Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
  • Naturally curious and proactive in finding better ways to solve problems
  • Confident and active user of AI and automation tools in day-to-day work
  • Strong English communication skills — verbal and written are essential for this role


Employment Type

This role is engaged on an independent contractor basis.
