Purchasing Specialist

A Sourcing Officer is responsible for finding, evaluating, and securing suppliers that provide goods or services needed by an organization. The role focuses on ensuring the company obtains quality products at competitive prices while maintaining reliable supplier relationships.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.
• Requesting and comparing quotations.
• Negotiating prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Preparing purchase requests and purchase orders.
• Monitoring supplier performance and resolving delivery or quality issues.
• Conducting market research to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintaining supplier records and procurement documentation.
• Coordinating with internal departments to understand purchasing needs.
• Ensuring procurement complies with company policies and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer, Sourcing Officer, or Procurement Officer in the food industry or food manufacturing (Fresh and Frozen Seafoods.
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, vendor accreditation, price negotiation, and procurement of food ingredients, packaging materials, or indirect materials.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Experience working with ERP or procurement systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.
