About the role
Jardin, a leading restaurant located in Malang, Jawa Timur, is seeking an exceptional Head Pastry Chef to join their talented culinary team. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation and production of all desserts and baked goods, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to showcase your expertise and passion for the culinary arts.
What you'll be doing
Developing and implementing innovative dessert and baked goods recipes that complement the restaurant's menu and delight guests
Managing the pastry kitchen, including supervising and training the pastry team
Ensuring the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality control
Collaborating with the executive chef and other culinary team members to align desserts with the overall restaurant concept and vision
Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies to maintain efficient kitchen operations
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the pastry program
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Head Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel setting
Proven track record of creating and executing innovative, visually appealing desserts and baked goods
Excellent knowledge of baking techniques, food science, and pastry composition
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a talented pastry team
Proficiency in cost control, inventory management, and budgeting
Passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients and a commitment to sustainability
