Position Summary:
The Junior UAV Design Engineer supports UAV design, prototyping, and 3D modeling to develop functional, efficient, and safe drone systems. The role focuses on CAD modeling, 3D printing, component integration, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and capable of working with cross-functional teams to transform conceptual designs into operational UAVs.
- Design and develop 3D CAD models for drone frames, components, mounts, and payloads using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar software.
- Create technical drawings, exploded views, and assembly documentation for internal use and regulatory submission.
- 3D print prototypes and custom parts, ensuring fit and functionality.
- Collaborate with UAV teams on component integration, assembly, and flight readiness.
- Study motor configurations, circuits, and payload requirements for proper design integration.
- Assist in preparing technical specifications, manuals, and documentation for CAAP or internal use.
- Support flight tests, exhibitions, and field demonstrations to validate designs.
- Track inventory and manage components used in design and prototyping.
- Research materials, structural strength, and design optimization for specialized UAV applications.
- Operate 3D scanners and process scanned models for CAD integration.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduate of Aeronautical Engineering
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) and 3D printing technologies.
- Knowledge of UAV components, payload integration, and structural design principles.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembling, or testing drone components is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Willingness to participate in flight tests, exhibitions, and site visits.
