Ship Pilot Traffic & Piloting

About the role

Are you an experienced ship pilot, PT Kuala Pelabuhan Indonesia is seeking a talented Ship Pilot to oversee the traffic and pilotage operations at our Timika-based port (Port Amamapare PT Freeport Indonesia). In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient passage of vessels through our port.

What you'll be doing

1. Provide expert pilotage services to guide vessels of all sizes through the port's waters

2. Monitor and coordinate vessel traffic movements to maintain smooth operations

3. Communicate with captains, Loading masters, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations

4. Analyse weather conditions and tidal patterns to plan safe passage for vessels

5. Maintain detailed records of all pilotage activities

6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of port procedures and safety protocols

7. To assist supervise, report & maintain all navigation equipment & buoys at Amamapare channel.

8. To Assist supervise, report & maintain port operation.

9. Supervise & conduct performance assessments of our jetties.

10. Supervise & conduct performance assessment of our tugboats.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a certified ship pilot, preferably in a large commercial/public/private port

2. Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, navigation principles, and vessel handling techniques

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders

4. Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in dynamic situations

5. Physical fitness and stamina to board and disembark vessels as required

6. Proficiency in Indonesian and English languages.

 Mandatory Requirements

1. Holding ANT 1 at least ANT 2 license

2. Possess Pilotage Certificate Level 1 ( Class 1 )

3. Hands-on experience with Bulk Carrier Vessels such as Container and Tanker.
