An Assistant Manager for a GDS (Global Distribution System) Travel account in a BPO is a leadership role. You will manage daily operations, coach a team of travel consultants, and act as the final escalation point for complex ticketing issues, using systems like Amadeus, Sabre, and Galileo.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Inspire, guide, and manage a team of L2 complex-itinerary travel consultants and corporate travel agents.
- GDS Expertise & Escalations: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point for cryptic/native GDS commands, ticket reissues, schedule adjustments, and refund disputes.
- Performance Management: Drive the team to meet strict SLAs and KPIs (e.g., Average Handle Time, Customer Satisfaction, and booking accuracy).
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop performance dashboards and process documentation using Microsoft Excel and presentation tools.
Typical Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of BPO experience as a Team Lead or Assistant Manager in a travel account (especially corporate travel).
- Technical Skills: Hands-on, native or cryptic experience with GDS platforms (Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo).
- Soft Skills: Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken) with the ability to lead conference calls and facilitate coaching.
- Education: Typically requires at least 2 years in college or a completed Bachelor’s degree.
