About the role
We are seeking a Procurement Manager - Retail Apparel to join PT Deus Ex Machina Indonesia on a full-time basis in our Bali location. This is a strategic position within our purchasing, procurement and inventory department, responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for our retail apparel operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient sourcing, acquisition and management of high-quality apparel products whilst maintaining cost efficiency and supporting our business objectives. This role requires someone who can navigate complex supply chains, build strong supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement in our procurement operations.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies for retail apparel products to optimise cost, quality and delivery timelines
Source, evaluate and select suppliers and vendors for apparel materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with company standards
Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for money whilst maintaining quality standards
Manage purchase orders, track shipments and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability
Analyse market trends, competitor pricing and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
Ensure compliance with quality standards, sustainability practices and regulatory requirements across all procurement activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, operations and finance to align procurement plans with business needs
Maintain accurate records of suppliers, pricing, delivery performance and inventory data
Resolve procurement-related issues, including supplier disputes and quality concerns
Manage relationships with key suppliers and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
What we're looking for
Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the retail apparel or fashion industry
Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts
Strong knowledge of retail apparel products, sourcing channels and manufacturing processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Proficiency in procurement systems and inventory management software
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
Experience in cost analysis, budgeting and financial management
Fluency in English and Indonesian is essential; additional language skills are advantageous
Knowledge of sustainability practices and ethical sourcing in apparel procurement is preferred
Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
