Drafter / 3D Modeler - Boat Builder

Exciting, young, and fast-growing Indonesia-based boat builder Outborn Watercraft (www.outbornwatercraft.com) is looking for a proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-focused candidate.

PT Outborn Watercraft are seeking a skilled Drafter / 3D Modeler to join our design and production. This role focuses on the creation of detailed 3D models and technical drawing packages required for boat construction, including structural components, mechanical systems, and outfitting. The Drafter / 3D Modeler will work closely with Naval Architects, engineers, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, precise, and aligned with project specifications and shipyard standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

• 3D Modeling: Develop high-accuracy 3D models of marine components and assemblies using Rhino. 

• Drafting: Produce comprehensive technical drawings for the production floor to ensure accurate fabrication. 

• Technical Collaboration: Coordinate with naval architects, engineers, and production team to translate design specifications into buildable models. Support the team during design, revision, and vessel development processes. 

• Quality Control: Ensure all drawings and designs comply with applicable marine standards, ergonomic principles, project requirements, and follow the directions of the Project Manager and Naval Architect. 

• Production Support: Assist production teams in interpreting drawings and resolving design-to-build discrepancies. 

• CNC Preparation: Create production-ready CNC files and nesting layouts for cutting and fabrication (added value). 

• Documentation: Maintain proper drawing documentation and revision control. 

• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the manager or superintendent. 

Requirements: 

• Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Industrial Design, or Diploma (D3) in a relevant major. .

• Minimum 1 years of experience as a 3D Drafter, preferably in the boat building, shipbuilding, or marine industry.

• At least 1 year of working experience in the same or related position Drafter / 3D Modeler, (Experience in shipbuilding, marine industry, or architecture and interior design will be considered a plus). 

• Proficient in 3D modeling and drafting software (Rhino 3D or equivalent). 

• Strong attention to detail, good time management, and ability to work under deadlines. 

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

• Good taste in design and is always keeping up with design trends and techniques, especially in the marine industry. 

• Experience in working with or operating a CNC machine is a plus. 

• Willing to be placed in Denpasar, Bali.
