About the role
PT SCG Barito Logistics is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Junior Supervisor to join our dynamic procurement team. This is a full-time position based in West Jakarta, Jakarta. The primary purpose of this role is to oversee transportation carrier sourcing, conduct detailed cost analyses, and negotiate competitive freight rates. The Procurement Jr. Supervisor works collaboratively with the operations department to maintain strong vendor relationships, track carrier performance, and ensure efficient, cost-effective logistics operations.
Key responsibilities
Carrier Negotiations: Negotiate competitive freight rates, contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with logistics providers, including trucking companies, freight forwarders, and shipping lines.
Vendor Evaluation: Maintain and continuously evaluate a portfolio of approved transport vendors to ensure competitive pricing and high delivery reliability.
Bid Management: Oversee the bidding process for transportation services and rigorously analyze Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to maximize cost-effectiveness.
Route Optimization: Plan the most cost-effective and efficient distribution routes to program and customer sites.
Shipment Tracking: Track the movement of goods in real-time to proactively identify and resolve any supply chain bottlenecks.
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all shipping and procurement activities strictly comply with local and international transport laws, safety standards, and government regulations.
Risk Mitigation: Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, carrier failures, and global commodity fluctuations.
Insurance & Claims: Manage cargo insurance policies and promptly process freight claims for damaged, lost, or delayed goods.
Budget Management: Prepare logistics budgets and continuously monitor transportation expenses to optimize overall supply chain costs.
Performance Tracking: Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate on-time delivery rates, carrier capacity, and vendor performance..
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
2 to 4 years of proven experience in transportation procurement, strategic sourcing, or logistics management.
Strong contract negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
Willingness and ability to conduct field visits for hands-on problem resolution.
High proficiency in essential software, including SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly preferred.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to identifying operational improvements.
Fluency in Indonesian and English, both written and spoken.
Ability to work in a team environment and support colleagues in achieving departmental objectives.
