System Dev & Maintenance Engineer
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
System Maintenance & Operations:
- Perform routine system maintenance (OS, middleware, and application services).
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance to ensure reliability.
- Execute system patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripts and schedulers.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards, and propose system reliability/performance improvements.
Incident & Problem Management:
- Handle Production Incidents (L1–L3 Support), including participating in on-call rotation and after-hours support.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), produce bug reports, and plan preventive actions.
- Coordinate effectively with vendors and internal teams during incidents.
- Change & Deployment Management:
- Execute system changes following established change management procedures.
- Prepare maintenance windows and detailed rollback plans.
- Support deployments and post-release validation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all changes and maintenance activities.
Security & Compliance:
- Apply security patches and vulnerability fixes.
- Ensure systems comply with security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
- Support audits, compliance checks, and monitor access controls and system logs.
- What Capabilities You’ll Need (Requirements)
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of work experience in similar roles, with hands-on experience implementing solutions in Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Alibaba Cloud).
- Containers & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Scripting Skills: Strong scripting capabilities in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Database Knowledge: Solid understanding of database basics (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools such as Prometheus, Sentry, Grafana, Datadog, or Zabbix.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
