About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager with proven experience in the FMCG industry (New Business) and a strong track record in market expansion, strategic partnerships, and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will combine deep sector knowledge with sharp business acumen to identify, evaluate, and execute growth opportunities that expand our market presence and product portfolio across Indonesia and ASEAN.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and pursue new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and acquisition targets within the FMCG sector
Lead market entry strategies for new regions, product categories, or customer segments
Conduct comprehensive market analysis, competitive intelligence, and business case development
Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, private equity firms, and industry stakeholders
Develop compelling business cases and present recommendations to senior leadership
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution
Monitor FMCG industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics across Indonesia and ASEAN
Support integration planning to ensure operational synergy post-acquisition or partnership
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in the FMCG industry (minimum 3 years) — e.g., at a food/beverage producer, personal care manufacturer, or retail distributor
Hands-on business development experience — must have participated in market expansion, strategic partnerships, or acquisition activities
Strong financial literacy: proficient in valuation methods, financial modeling, and deal structuring
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred)
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to translate complex data into clear strategic insights
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; professional English proficiency required
Strong business sense — demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and make sound commercial decisions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with multinational FMCG brands or cooperatives
Background in private equity, investment banking, or corporate strategy
Understanding of Indonesian FMCG regulations (BPOM, halal certification, labeling requirements)
Existing network within Indonesia's FMCG ecosystem (distributors, retailers, manufacturers)
Experience with international market expansion (ASEAN or beyond)
Experience in acquisitions, mergers, or joint ventures
