Project Associate
Role Purpose
Independently drive analysis and solution development on complex, cross-functional business problems — from root-cause diagnosis through actionable recommendations. The role spans any function where a process leaks time, cost, or control (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and the hand-offs between them). This role is expected to own workstreams with minimal oversight, brings structure to ambiguous problems, and begins to lead collaboration across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Problem Solving & Project Delivery
Independently drive analysis on complex problems from root-cause identification through solution development, with minimal oversight.
Structure ambiguous problems into clear, actionable workstreams.
Drive cross-functional working-level meeting cadence — gather inputs, pressure-test assumptions, and build alignment on recommendations.
Build a working understanding of the operational value levers and complexities in your assigned project domain.
Produce decision-ready analysis, models, and materials (Excel, PowerPoint).
2. Team Leadership & Development
Prioritize your own workstreams by business impact and stakeholder need; re-focus as priorities shift.
Show emerging leadership — mentor Analysts informally and contribute to overall team effectiveness.
3. Stakeholder Management
Manage relationships with mid-level stakeholders across functions.
Facilitate working-level discussions to build buy-in and address concerns on strategic recommendations.
Must-Have Qualifications
6-8 years in consulting, strategy, process improvement, business analysis, finance, or operations.
Track record of independently owning analytical workstreams on ambiguous, cross-functional problems.
Strong structuring and quantification skills — turns a messy problem into a clear, evidence-based analysis.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; clear, structured communication.
Comfortable with financial logic (cost, margin, P&L, value drivers).
Able to run cross-functional working sessions and influence without direct authority.
Pragmatic and field-willing — goes to see how the process actually runs.
Nice-to-Have
MBB or Big 4 consulting / advisory experience.
Finance experience in FMCG / consumer goods (familiarity with trade spend, distribution economics, channel margin).
