About The Role
This is a field-based community development role focused on building UMKMall's presence and partner network in Pontianak. You'll be the person on the ground, identifying and approaching UMKM associations, cooperatives, and local government offices, then guiding them through partnership and onboarding.
You won't be selling. You'll be building trust, understanding what communities actually need, and making sure UMKM owners can use our platform in real conditions: slow internet, first-time AI users, varying digital literacy levels included.
This is a full-time, field-based position based in Pontianak.
How You'll Work
You'll collaborate closely with the Business Development and Community Development & Government Relations teams, serving as the primary feedback loop between the field and the rest of the organization. This is a full-time, field-based position in Pontianak.
What You'll Do
Map and build relationships with UMKM associations, cooperatives, trade communities, and other institutions that could become strategic partners for UMKMall in Pontianak and surrounding areas.
Canvass and actively build relationships with UMKM associations and communities.
Onboard partners: guide associations and communities through initial setup.
Accompany UMKM owners during onboarding and early product adoption.
Maintain relationships with the Department of Cooperatives, Department of Trade, and other local government contacts in West Kalimantan.
Serve as UMKMall's primary point of contact in Pontianak.
What We're Looking For
We prioritize relationship depth, local credibility, and initiative over formal credentials. Someone who knows how to move in the field and bring communities along will thrive here.
Must Haves:
Minimum 3 years of experience in community development, UMKM empowerment, NGO work, or government relations.
Active network within the UMKM ecosystem in Pontianak or West Kalimantan.
Proven track record of directly approaching and converting organizations or communities to join a program.
Based in Pontianak, comfortable with field-based work.
Familiar with basic digital tools.
Nice to Haves:
Experience with UMKM CSR programs or local government initiatives.
