TRUCKING COMPANY

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Maintenance Supervisor to lead and manage maintenance operations for trucking and fleet activities, ensuring high vehicle reliability, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across company operations.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership capabilities, hands-on fleet/truck maintenance experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs effectively to support transportation operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with operational and business objectives, particularly for trucking and fleet operations.

  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance culture to reduce vehicle breakdown frequency and operational downtime.

  • Analyze maintenance data including downtime, repair costs, fuel efficiency trends, component failures, and maintenance effectiveness to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve truck reliability, fleet availability, operational productivity, and maintenance performance.

  • Monitor and optimize maintenance budgets to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining operational quality and safety standards.

  • Support implementation and improvement of maintenance systems such ERP monitoring systems, or other fleet maintenance management systems.

  • Establish maintenance KPIs and ensure achievement of departmental targets including truck readiness, utilization, and maintenance compliance.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Supervise and control Maintenance Leaders and maintenance teams in executing daily maintenance activities for trucks and supporting equipment.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are executed according to company targets and operational requirements.

  • Control and monitor vehicle breakdown response time and corrective maintenance effectiveness.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented and reported within the maintenance system.

  • Monitor spare part usage, inventory accuracy, stock availability, tire management, and maintenance cost control.

  • Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and related departments to minimize operational disruptions and maximize fleet readiness.

  • Ensure truck readiness, roadworthiness, and reliability to support daily transportation operations.

  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for recurring vehicle or equipment issues.

  • Monitor vendor/workshop performance related to external repair and maintenance services.

Leadership & People Development

  • Develop team competencies and technical capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and training.

  • Establish performance targets and conduct regular performance evaluations.

  • Build a strong accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement culture within the maintenance team.

  • Improve reporting discipline and system utilization among team members.

  • Support manpower planning and workforce productivity improvement.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, transportation regulations, and government safety standards.

  • Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures.

  • Support internal and external audits including ISO 14001:2015 and other management system requirements.

  • Participate in Business Continuity Management (BCM) activities and company improvement programs.

  • Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal practices according to environmental standards (organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste/B3).

  • Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all maintenance personnel.

  • Ensure all trucks comply with operational safety and legal requirements.

  • Perform additional duties assigned by management as required by the company.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in truck/fleet maintenance operations, preferably in transportation, logistics, trucking, or fleet management industry.

  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance systems for trucks and fleet equipment.

  • Experience in handling maintenance KPIs, budgeting, and operational improvement programs.

  • Familiar with CMMS / ERP systems

  • Strong understanding of truck maintenance, fleet reliability, tire management, and spare part control.

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.

  • Good understanding of HSE and ISO standards.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in trucking, fleet, or transportation company operations.
