A Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and operational procedures to ensure guest satisfaction and food safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize ingredients required for food production in accordance with approved recipes and standards.
- Cook and present food while maintaining consistency in quality, taste, portion size, and presentation.
- Ensure all food items are prepared and served in compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the kitchen, workstations, equipment, and utensils.
- Store food products and ingredients properly to preserve quality and prevent spoilage or contamination.
- Monitor and control the use of ingredients to minimize waste and support cost efficiency.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or replenishment needs to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure efficient and smooth kitchen operations.
- Conduct daily preparation (mise en place) to ensure readiness for service periods.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, food quality issues, or operational concerns to the immediate supervisor.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management that are related to kitchen operations and food service.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
