The QMS Engineer at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain Jabil's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, or other applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Lead and support internal and external audits (e.g., customer, regulatory, certification bodies) to assess QMS effectiveness and ensure compliance.
* Manage the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process, including investigation of non-conformances, root cause analysis, and verification of effectiveness.
* Facilitate and lead risk management activities, including FMEA development and risk assessment.
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality records.
* Provide training and guidance to employees on QMS principles, processes, and tools.
* Monitor and analyze quality performance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
* Participate in design reviews and new product introduction (NPI) activities to ensure quality requirements are incorporated.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, supply chain) to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
* Support supplier quality management activities, including audits and performance monitoring.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
* 3+ years of experience in a Quality Management System (QMS) role within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
* Strong knowledge and practical experience with ISO 9001 is essential; experience with AS9100, ISO 13485, or other industry-specific QMS standards is a significant advantage.
* Proven experience leading and participating in internal and external audits.
* Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis, CAPA processes, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
* Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) are highly desirable.
