Description
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH, and company quality standards. The role ensures accurate testing, proper documentation, equipment maintenance, and timely submission of test results while maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials following established procedures and testing standards.
- Prepare, label, and organize test samples for laboratory analysis.
- Record, compute, and verify test results accurately and completely.
- Maintain laboratory records, test reports, and other related documentation.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly cleaned, calibrated, maintained, and in good working condition.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Laboratory Supervisor immediately.
- Assist in collecting, receiving, and organizing field samples for testing.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH, ISO, and company quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety within the laboratory.
- Monitor laboratory consumables and assist in inventory management.
- Coordinate with the Laboratory Supervisor regarding testing schedules and work priorities.
- Observe proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory materials and waste.
- Support field personnel and other departments whenever laboratory assistance is required.
- Perform other laboratory-related duties that may be assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Management.
