Job Role: Remote Lighting Design Technician

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $2,800 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type:Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding lighting wholesaler dedicated to exclusively servicing lighting contractors across Australia.

Role Overview: Support an Australian lighting design team producing lighting calculations and technical documentation for commercial projects using DIALux Evo and AutoCAD.

This role requires a knowledgeable technical professional who can confidently work within established Australian lighting compliance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and modifying lighting calculation models and layouts
  • Producing accurate technical reports and supporting documentation
  • Reviewing architectural and electrical plans
  • Ensuring designs align with applicable Australian standards and project

requirements

Required Skills and

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience producing lighting calculations for Australian commercial projects
  • Familiarity with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC)
  • Advanced proficiency in DIALux Evo and solid AutoCAD skills
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural and electrical plans
  • High attention to detail and strong written English communication
  • Ability to work independently and raise technical queries when clarification is required

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Australian electrical contractors, consultants, or lighting wholesalers
  • Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, AGi32, Relux, & Photometric Toolbox software
  • Experience working remotely within Australian business hours
