Position Summary
The Project Planner & Control is responsible for planning, monitoring, controlling, and reporting all project activities to ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the required quality standards. This role serves as the central coordination point between the Project Manager, Site Team, Quantity Surveyor, Procurement, Cost Control, and Client.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning
Develop and maintain the Project Master Schedule using Microsoft Project.
Prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), project milestones, and baseline schedules.
Coordinate planning activities with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams.
Identify project critical paths and monitor potential delays.
Project Monitoring & Control
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress against the approved baseline schedule.
Measure schedule performance and identify deviations.
Analyze delays, constraints, and productivity issues, then recommend corrective actions.
Prepare recovery schedules when required.
Progress Reporting
Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports.
Develop and update S-Curves, Look-Ahead Schedules, Progress Dashboards, and KPI reports.
Present project progress, risks, and mitigation plans during coordination meetings.
Maintain project documentation related to planning and progress control.
Cost & Performance Control
Monitor project performance against budget and schedule.
Coordinate with Cost Control to track project costs, commitments, and cash flow.
Support Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, including CPI and SPI.
Assist in forecasting project completion dates and budget requirements.
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate project progress information with Project Manager, Site Engineer, QS, Procurement, and Client Representatives.
Support progress verification for interim payment applications and project claims.
Ensure planning data is aligned with actual site execution.
Risk Management
Identify scheduling risks and project constraints.
Prepare mitigation and acceleration plans.
Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Documentation & Project Control System
Maintain project planning records, revisions, and schedule updates.
Ensure all planning documents comply with project procedures.
Support implementation of project control systems and reporting standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as Project Planner, Project Control, or Planning Engineer in construction projects.
Experience in villa, hospitality, commercial building, or high-end residential projects is preferred.
Strong understanding of project scheduling, progress measurement, and construction sequencing.
Technical Skills
Microsoft Project.
Microsoft Excel (Advanced).
Microsoft PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Cost Control and Earned Value Management (EVM).
Ability to prepare S-Curve, Cash Flow, Histograms, Look-Ahead Schedules, and Executive Progress Reports.
