Role: QA Analyst
Location: Jakarta
Position Type: Full-time
Reports to: CTO Technology Officer
About AME Group
AME Group is a leading provider of consulting and research services to the Metals & Mining and Coal & Consumable Fuels industries. Drawing on more than 50 years of industry expertise, we deliver bespoke consulting engagements, subscription research, and software-as-a-service products to clients globally.
About the Role
We are seeking a QA Analyst to help ensure the quality of what we build. This is a growth role: you will start hands-on in software testing i.e. taking tickets and confirming that changes have been built correctly; as you learn our software landscape, grow into the earlier stages of delivery, helping to scope work and gather and document requirements.
A QA Analyst is primarily responsible for:
• Verifying completed tickets against their acceptance criteria, working from the develop branch
• Pulling down repositories, building solutions locally, and running tests to confirm changes behave as expected
• Providing developers with clear, reproducible feedback when something is not right
• Building a deep working knowledge of our product and codebase landscape
Over time, the successful candidate will work closely with developers, research team, and analysts to take on requirements work, helping to scope tickets and document what is needed for developers and data engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Starting in software quality assurance and progressing toward requirements and analysis, the QA Analyst will be responsible for:
• Confirming that completed tickets have been implemented correctly and meet their defined acceptance criteria
• Pulling down repositories, building solutions, and running tests locally as part of verification
• Raising clear, reproducible defect reports and managing them through to resolution with developers
• Learning AME’s products and methodologies until you understand how the different applications fit together
• Progressively contributing to ticket scoping
• Gathering and documenting requirements clearly for the development team
Qualification and Experience
This role begins hands-on in software quality assurance and is intended to grow over time toward requirements gathering and analysis. It is a technical QA role: you will work directly with source code repositories rather than testing solely through a user interface. You do not need to be a software developer. However, candidates seeking a pure UI-only testing role, or who are not comfortable working with version control and the command line, will not be progressed.
Required
• Prior experience in software testing or quality assurance (typically 2+ years)
• Comfortable with version control (Azure DevOps Git) and the command line — able to pull down a repository, build a solution locally, and run its tests
• A naturally analytical and curious mindset; you like getting to the bottom of things
• Clear communication, particularly in writing
• A genuine appetite to grow beyond testing into requirements gathering and analysis
Highly Desirable
• Experience with .Net and Angular
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps
• Prior exposure to requirements gathering or business analysis
• An interest in, or exposure to, the resources, commodities, or research data domain
Technical Skills
• Confident using Git or equivalent version control
• Able to build and run solutions locally from source, following written setup instructions
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking workflows
• Clear, structured, reproducible written bug reporting
• A working understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile delivery
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Fluent written and spoken English (essential)
What We Offer
• Modern, central office near to public transport and key amenities
• Competitive salary
• Health Care
• Lunch
• 13 months salary
