We are looking for an experienced Crewing Manager to lead and manage all crewing operations to ensure the availability of qualified seafarers, compliance with maritime regulations, and smooth vessel operations. This role is responsible for overseeing crew recruitment, deployment, payroll, certification, crew welfare, logistics, and documentation while ensuring compliance with Indonesian and international maritime standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Crewing Department.
Develop and implement crewing strategies to ensure adequate manpower for all vessels.
Plan and oversee crew recruitment, selection, deployment, rotation, promotion, and sign-off processes.
Coordinate with Operations and Technical Departments to ensure timely and effective vessel manning.
Ensure all crew certifications, licenses, travel documents, and medical certificates remain valid and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
Ensure full compliance with STCW, MLC 2006, ISM Code, Flag State, Port State, and Indonesian maritime regulations.
Manage crew employment contracts, personnel records, and document administration.
Supervise crew payroll, overtime, allotments, leave records, and other crew-related compensation accurately and on time.
Oversee crew travel arrangements, including flight bookings, visas, accommodation, and transportation.
Handle crew welfare, grievances, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution professionally.
Build and maintain relationships with manning agencies, maritime academies, immigration authorities, P&I Clubs, and other external stakeholders.
Develop and monitor the Crewing Department budget while ensuring cost efficiency.
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and development for the Crewing team.
Prepare monthly management reports, KPI reports, manpower forecasts, and crewing analytics for senior management.
Support internal and external audits by ensuring complete and accurate crew documentation.
Continuously improve crewing processes, policies, SOPs, and Crew Management System (CMS) to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Maritime Management, Nautical Studies, Marine Transportation, Maritime Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Law, or other related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Crewing/Manning operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the shipping, offshore, or maritime industry.
Proven experience managing crew recruitment, deployment, payroll, crew logistics, certification, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of STCW 2010, MLC 2006, ISM Code, Indonesian maritime regulations, and labor laws.
Experience using HRIS and/or Crew Management Systems (CMS).
Good understanding of crew documentation, visa processing, travel arrangements, and crew change operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership, planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information.
Able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and provide on-call support for urgent crew operational matters.
