About Us
The Istana is a wellness and meditation retreat on the cliffs of Uluwatu. We run yoga and meditation alongside spa and biohacking treatments.
The Role
We are hiring a shiatsu therapist to join our team. Room, linens, and supplies are provided.
Responsibilities
• Run shiatsu sessions and brief intake chats.
• Adapt to each guest, including prenatal, elderly, and post-injury cases (within your training).
• Keep notes in our system.
• Reset the room between guests.
• Offer simple aftercare: stretches, breathwork, and hydration.
• Keep things clean and professional.
Required
• Prior Shiatsu training.
• Fluent in English.
• Familiarity with meridian theory and related shiatsu frameworks and practices.
Nice to Have
• Experience in a spa, clinic, or retreat.
• Training in a related modality (Thai massage, tuina, reflexology, etc.).
• Experience with prenatal or geriatric clients.
• A personal practice in meditation or yoga.
• An additional language, especially Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, or Russian.
