Quantity Surveyor & Claim Officer (Glodon Cubicost)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor & Claim Officer to join PT China Construction Yangtze River Indonesia on a contract basis. Based in Cikarang Pusat, West Java, this role is crucial to our construction operations, combining quantity surveying expertise with claims management to ensure accurate project costing, documentation, and financial protection. You will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing valuations, and handling contractual claims using industry-leading software solutions such as Glodon Cubicost. This position is essential to maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring successful project delivery across our construction portfolio.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects using Glodon Cubicost and related estimating software

2. Monitor project costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and cost overruns

3. Conduct regular valuations and interim payment certifications for project billing and contractual milestones

4. Prepare, document, and lodge contractual claims for variations, extensions of time, and cost impacts in accordance with contract terms

5. Analyse contractual documents and specifications to identify cost implications and potential claim opportunities

6. Maintain comprehensive project records, including cost data, supplier quotations, and supporting documentation for claims

7. Liaise with project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors regarding cost matters and claim submissions

8. Prepare cost reports and financial forecasts for project management and senior leadership review

9. Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and relevant industry standards throughout the project

10. Provide expert advice on quantity surveying and contractual claims matters to project management teams

What we're looking for

1. Fluency in English and Indonesian languages preferred; strong written and verbal communication skills essential

2. Proven expertise with Glodon Cubicost or similar estimating and cost management software

3. Strong knowledge of contractual claims processes, variations management, and commercial contract principles

4. Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

5. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably on large-scale projects

6. Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers within the construction sector

7. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and valuations

8. Proficiency in contract administration and familiarity with standard construction contracts (FIDIC, AIA, or equivalent)

9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

10. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, particularly in claims documentation and presentation

11. Experience working on international construction projects or with multinational teams is advantageous
