About the role
GreenEarth Ventures Indonesia is seeking an Aquaculture Field Analyst to join our growing team in Jakarta. This is a full-time position based in Jakarta, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our aquaculture operations and sustainability initiatives. As an Aquaculture Field Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments, monitoring farm performance, and providing technical guidance to ensure our aquaculture operations meet the highest standards of environmental responsibility and productivity. This role is fundamental to our mission of developing sustainable fishing and aquaculture practices across Indonesia.
Key responsibilities
Conduct regular field visits to aquaculture facilities to monitor farm conditions, water quality, and fish health standards
Collect and analyse data on production metrics, including growth rates, feed conversion ratios, and mortality rates
Assess environmental impacts and compliance with sustainability and regulatory requirements at farming sites
Provide technical recommendations to farm operators regarding best management practices and operational improvements
Document findings and prepare detailed reports on farm performance, environmental conditions, and recommendations for enhancement
Collaborate with farm managers and local stakeholders to implement sustainable aquaculture practices
Support the identification and mitigation of disease outbreaks and biosecurity risks
Maintain accurate records and databases of field observations and test results
Contribute to the development and refinement of monitoring protocols and standard operating procedures
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in aquaculture, fisheries science, marine biology, environmental science, or a related field
Proven experience working in aquaculture operations, fish farming, or related field-based roles
Strong knowledge of aquaculture practices, fish biology, water quality management, and fish health
Proficiency in data collection methods and basic data analysis techniques
Excellent fieldwork skills with the ability to work in varied environmental conditions
Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with farm operators and stakeholders
Attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping and reporting
Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles in aquaculture
Fluency in Indonesian and English (both written and spoken)
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to farm sites
Preferred: Experience with water quality testing equipment and familiarity with GIS or data management software
