KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare residential plans, layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Convert sketches, mark-ups, and design notes into clear and accurate CAD documentation
- Update and revise drawings based on client, designer, or project feedback
- Assist with concept design development and preliminary sketch work for new residential projects
- Maintain organised drawing files, documentation, and version control records
- Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, consistency, and completeness before issue
- Coordinate drawing updates and ensure drafting standards are maintained across projects
- Support the project team with drafting-related tasks and documentation requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in residential drafting, CAD documentation, or a similar role
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with experience producing residential construction drawings
- Solid understanding of residential drafting standards, construction documentation, and building layouts
- Ability to interpret sketches, mark-ups, architectural notes, and design concepts accurately
- High level of attention to detail with strong accuracy in dimensions and drawing consistency
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple revisions and deadlines
- Experience in maintaining drawing registers, version control, and project documentation
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers, builders, and project stakeholders
- Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modelling software is advantageous
- Familiarity with Australian residential construction standards and council requirements is preferred
- Diploma or certification in Drafting, Architecture, Building Design, or a related field is preferred
